Our Program
House of Victory is a residential program free of charge for men with backgrounds of substance abuse, many of whom have been homeless for years and come to us with shattered lives of hopelessness and despair.
Our vision is based on the parable of the “Good Samaritan” (Luke 10:30-37), and Isaiah 58:6-7: “Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor that are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?”
While we endeavor to help bring holistic restoration (body, soul, and spirit) to these broken men, we recognize that only a personal encounter with the love of God through Messiah Yeshua and the infilling of the Holy Spirit will empower them to walk into true, lasting freedom and fulfillment.
First Stage
In the initial “first stage,” usually lasting from nine months to one year, our students are brought into a warm, supervised home environment, with a daily well-ordered schedule comprised of practical work, Bible studies, and recreational activities. They are also able to participate in the events and special holiday activities with our faith community of Carmel Congregation, providing a genuine sense of belonging to a loving family.
Second Stage
After the initial stage of forming new, healthy lifestyle habits along with character transformation, our students are able to move into the next phase of restoration, where they begin a process of re-entry, while still living in a safe and accountable living situation. Some begin working jobs outside of House of Victory, and may also begin courses of study to enable them to develop new job skills or callings into ministry.
“Freedom Riders”
In our commitment to bring physical restoration to our students, they regularly enjoy refreshing field trips to beautiful locations in Israel, including camping trips. One of the favorite activities of our students is bicycling and they have had the joy of participating in national cycling competitions.
